Admission Procedure

At Om Shanthi Higher Secondary School (CBSE), Admissions are designed to be transparent, fair and systematic, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to learn in a nurturing and value-based environment.

Admission Procedure

  • Academic Session – The school year begins in April and concludes in March.
  • Application Form – Prospectus and application forms are available at the school office from January onwards upon payment of a nominal fee.
  • Pre-Primary Admissions – Admission to Pre-KG, LKG and UKG is based on an informal interaction with the child and parents. The focus is on assessing readiness, communication and social skills rather than academics.
  • Primary & Above (Class I onwards)
    • Students are required to take an entrance test in English, Mathematics and Science to assess their aptitude.
    • Admission will be confirmed based on performance in the test and a personal interview with the Head of School.
  • Confirmation of Admission – Selected candidates will be notified and admission is confirmed only after submission of required documents and payment of fees.
  • Documents Required:
    • Birth Certificate (Original & Copy)
    • Transfer Certificate (for students from other schools)
    • Community Certificate (if applicable)
    • Recent Passport-size Photographs
    • Copy of Aadhaar Card
  • Pre-KG: 2.5 to 3.5 years
  • LKG: 3.5 to 4.5 years
  • UKG: 4.5 to 5.5 years
  • Class I onwards: Successful completion of the previous class with required documentation.

The school maintains age-appropriate entry for each class as per CBSE norms, ensuring that children begin their education at the right developmental stage.

Withdrawal Policy

  • Parents/Guardians wishing to withdraw their ward must apply in writing to the Principal on or before 28th February of the academic year.
  • A Transfer Certificate (T.C.) will be issued only after clearance of all dues and submission of a written application along with the prescribed nominal fee.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded, if withdrawal is sought after admission or during the middle of the academic session.
  • For smooth transition, parents are encouraged to provide sufficient notice to the school before initiating withdrawal.
